A tibute to the suppliers of my breakfast eggs

A visual tibute to the suppliers of my breakfast eggs

I have just eaten a wonderful omlette which made me think about the hard working feathered ladies who lay the tasty eggs.

Below are a selection of photographs, there are many more at

Photographs of beach huts on Mersea island.

Photographs of beach huts on Mersea island.

Queen Victoria made sea bathing fashionable with her changing "hut" on wheels which was trundled down the beach into the water. These bathing machines afforded privacy for ladies who could enter the water with only their heads being seen.

Modern beach huts can be found on many beaches and are used as shelter, for storage, cooking in, changing clothes and shade if the sunshine becomes too much.

Photographs of Tollesbury, Essex.

Sitting on the river blackwater, surrounded by salt march and water Tollesbury (Essex) is a wonderful place to visit. A walk along the sea wall on a summers day is a great way  to spend a few hours. I have seen marsh harriers hunting there. The trinity light vessel is also worth a look.

Photographs of All Saints church Ulting

Photographs of All Saints church Ulting was built in 1150 and stands on the banks of the river Chelmer and Blackwater.
To be precise the river Chelmer and Blackwater has been adapted for use as a canal so should be named a Navigation rather than a River.

This view from the opposite bank is my favourite.

Photographs of Chelmer and Blackwater canal - Paper mill lock

A small selection of photographs of Paper mill lock on the Chelmer and black water. The Chelmer and Blackwater navigation is one of my favourite places, although it is in mid Essex it is a tranquil waterway which is a joy to canoe on or walk or cycle alongside.
